Our journey into history begins bright and early! We will pick you up from your respective hotel in Cusco at 06:00 a.m. to board our private bus. We will enjoy a scenic drive through the Sacred Valley until we reach Km 82, the official checkpoint where our trekking adventure commences. During this first day of hiking, we will explore the beautiful Andean landscapes and visit two fascinating archaeological sites along the way, where our guide will explain the history of the valley. Keep your eyes open, as we will have the opportunity to observe the diverse local flora and fauna and enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped Veronica Mountain (Waqaywillka) towering over the horizon. By the afternoon, we will arrive at our first campsite in the village of Wayllabamba, where we will settle in, enjoy a hot dinner, and spend our first night under the Andean stars.

We wake up surrounded by nature and the morning song of native birds, the perfect setting to enjoy a nutritious, typical breakfast to fuel our bodies. Today is the most challenging and rewarding day of the trek. From Wayllabamba, we will begin a steady ascent towards the highest point of the Inca Trail: the famous Warmiwañusqa, also known as "Dead Woman's Pass". Upon reaching the summit, you will be rewarded with a wonderful panoramic view of the rugged Andes mountains—the perfect spot for epic photos. After celebrating this achievement, we will continue our journey with a descent into the valley until we reach our second designated campsite at Paqaymayu, where we will rest and recover energy for the next day.

This is often considered the most beautiful day of the trek. After a delicious breakfast, we hike deep into the protected area, a lush ecosystem where, with some luck, we may spot Andean deer and a variety of exotic birds. About 30 minutes into the hike, we will arrive at the circular archaeological group of Runkuraqay. We continue our ascent to the second pass and then descend to explore Sayaqmarca, another impressive archaeological site perched on a cliff. After exploring these ruins, we walk for another 15 minutes to Ch'akiqocha, where a delicious lunch awaits us. Recharged, we continue to Phuyupatamarca ("Town in the Clouds"), a site famous for its ritual baths and views. Finally, we descend for approximately two and a half hours through the cloud forest until we reach the spectacular Inca citadel of Wiñayhuayna ("Forever Young"). We will explore this stunning site and spend our last night camping nearby, full of anticipation for the grand finale.

The day we have been waiting for has arrived! We wake up early for breakfast at 05:00 a.m. and begin our final hike towards the Inti Punku (Sun Gate). The goal of this early start is to arrive in time to witness the sunrise and enjoy an exclusive, wide panoramic view of the entire Machu Picchu citadel before the crowds arrive. From the Sun Gate, we will descend into the sanctuary for a 2-hour professional guided tour, visiting the most important temples and sectors. After the tour, you will have free time to explore the site on your own. Finally, depending on your train schedule, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) and board the return train to Cusco. Upon arrival at the train station, our team will be waiting to transfer you safely back to your hotel.
